About Sungertain

About Sungertain

From origin, a 200-day cultivation promise, Shiding farm, and certifications, Sungertain turns reishi into a path people can understand and trust.

Origin

Where Sungertain Begins

The brand began with a family looking for a trustworthy answer.

A family need came before the brand

In 1972, the family began farming and developed a long-term understanding of the land, the seasons, and the rhythm of cultivation. This was the beginning of the family’s farming journey—not the founding year of the Sungertain brand.

Later, founder Yeh Keng-lung began searching for reliable reishi products after a family member experienced ongoing health concerns. At the time, reishi products on the market varied widely in appearance, size, and quality, making their origin and authenticity difficult to determine.

When genuine reishi was hard to find, we chose to grow it ourselves

After meeting Dr. Cheng Long-yen and learning more about reishi research, the founder reached a clear conclusion: if truly trustworthy reishi could not be found, the answer was to study, cultivate, and grow it ourselves.

In the summer of 1986, Typhoon Wayne struck Taiwan from an unusual path and tore down the outer wall of the reishi greenhouse. Faced with the loss of the cultivation site, the founder reflected on years of living alongside nature: when heaven and earth are in harmony, all things flourish; when people are in harmony, prosperity follows from every direction. This idea of harmony between heaven, earth, and people became the foundation of the brand name. The Sungertain brand was formally established in 1986 and continued its work in reishi research and cultivation.

200 Days

Giving Every Reishi Fruiting Body Time to Mature

Quality begins with the time that cannot be skipped.

A complete fruiting body takes time

A reishi fruiting body takes approximately 200 days to grow from cultivation to harvest. Mycelium can be cultivated in a much shorter period, but Sungertain chooses to wait because a complete growing cycle cannot be replaced by shortcuts.

From strain preparation and substrate preparation to daily temperature, humidity, and growth monitoring, every stage requires careful observation and adjustment.

The harvest is when the waiting is put to the test

The work begins before sunrise with regular farm inspections and continues with ongoing checks of each reishi crop. Throughout the growing cycle, conditions are observed, recorded, and adjusted as needed. Only at harvest can we confirm whether the growing process has been completed properly.

The 200 days are not a marketing slogan. They represent Sungertain’s commitment to the completeness of its raw materials, the care of its cultivation process, and the quality of its products.

Why Sungertain

Turning the story into reasons to choose

Experience, origin, certification, and continuity are gathered into a clear and readable brand story.

Fruiting body

No shortcuts

We choose full reishi fruiting bodies instead of fast-grown mycelium because the difference in richness and value matters.

Direct from Shiding

Transparent origin

Every step from farm to product happens in Shiding. No middlemen. Full traceability, batch by batch.

Complete certification

The numbers speak

SGS testing, organic certification, and US FDA recognition are not labels we chased. They are the result of the way we already worked.

Nearly forty years

Second generation carrying it forward

From founder Yeh Keng-lung to his son Yeh Chia-hao, the same focus on reishi has passed down as a working promise, not a marketing line.

Shiding Farm

Shiding: reishi's home

Shiding sits in the mountains of New Taipei. The altitude and terrain create steady temperature swings and humidity, while mountain spring water and organic farming methods let reishi mature at its own pace and produce stable fruiting bodies year after year.

  • Mountain microclimate

Temperature and humidity let reishi mature at its own pace.

  • Mountain spring water

Clean water and careful land stewardship are the first things the farm protects.

  • Century-old stone house

The stone house on the farm quietly holds the mountain's history.

  • Farm experiences

Reishi spa treatments, herbal cuisine, and accommodation invite visitors to slow down and feel reishi from the outside in.

Timeline

Time makes trust take shape

The brand began with research and gradually expanded into cultivation, certification, and succession.

Certifications

We were not certified to meet a standard

We were certified because we had always worked this way, and the standards followed.

Certification and testing

  • Organic certification: full organic cultivation management throughout.
  • SGS testing: pesticides, heavy metals, and pharmaceutical residues tested batch by batch.
  • US FDA: recognised exporter.
  • Polysaccharide content: tested and documented per batch, with results available on request.

Quality promise

  • Full traceability: every step from breeding and cultivation to harvest and finished goods is recorded.
  • Regular testing: every batch is tested before it goes to market.
  • Continuous improvement: production processes are refined based on research and feedback.

Behind every certification is a traceable production process — from spawn to finished product.
